White Easter

For those of you visiting the Netherlands over Easter - there is a high chance it will be a white one! Snow is forecast for the weekend, followed by rain on Monday.

hetismij - is this the first snow of the year

In Jan the hotel manager in Amsterdam said they usually don't have any snow in a typical winter.

will there be snow on the daffodils and tulips?

In our area (Central NL) it will be the first snow. Limburg and points south has had some snow already this year, and my husband tells me it was snowing in Hengelo today.
We get maybe a few cms of snow if we are really unlucky. I hate snow so a snow free winter is good for me. I like cold clear winters, one where it sfreezes for a few weeks and is dry and sunny. Lately we've only had grey wettish winters
Before Christmas we had a few really cold days with beautiful hoar frost, but sadly it didn't last.
So yes if it snows there will be snow on the daffs. The tulips aren't yet in flower, at least not in my garden, but they are growing fast!
jamikins have a great trip! I hope the forecast is completely wrong and we have a few springlike days, but there is fat chance of that i think.

High chance for a white Easter in Germany, too, at least in the hills and mountains.

Yesterday I took some nice winter photos in Freiberg, and this morning there was heavy snowfall even in Dresden.

At least with it being Easter I don't have to go out in it, and can admire it from the safety of my own home. Husband gets to walk the dogs weekends and holidays

I WISH we did not have a white Easter! We've had snow on the ground continuously since the middle of October with 35+ snowfalls. But then I live in Northern Canada - it is what it is! No tulips for us for a good two more months.

In the north west of England it is raining at the moment and the UK forecast for the weekend is rain, sleet or snow and cold northerly winds. Typical bank holiday weather really!

6-12" or a foot of snow predicted here for tonight - yes a White Easter. Wonder how the Easter Bunny can hop thru it all?

Snowing here too Pal, but it is barely sticking yet, as we had heavy rain this morning. More to come though.
Hope the Easter Bunny has snow shoes for you!

It is actually not that unusual to have snow at this time I realised when looking through my photos. I have quite a few "first day of spring" photos with snow on them.

Things can only get better....

Cold (-6C) but with brilliant sunshine in my part of Southern Ontario, and supposed to remain like this through to Monday. Yeah !
Just came back from a run and it's the perfect weather for outdoor activities. Still loads of snow around and the night temps fall to -12C but the daytime sunshine makes a huge difference. Actually feels like Spring has sprung. No early garden flowers yet but hopefully soon. Happy Easter to all.
Hope the Lindt Bunnies drop lots of stuff for you to find !
