We arrived a little before 7pm when dinner service started. No problem. They seated us, we ordered some wine and starters. Sandra, our server spoke very good English and described all the menu items.

All I can say is WOW! The food was so good. We had bruschetta with beef, then a cheese fondue with bread, potatoes, sausage, etc. Next we ordered 2 orders of gnocchi to share. In a creamy truffle & mushroom sauce, served in a Parmesan Tuile, it looked like it belonged in Bon Appetit magazine.
Breaking off that Tuile and dipping it in the sauce was heaven.

Of course, we had to have dessert. A creme brûlée, a pistachio creme brûlée, and a strawberry torte All lived up to the quality of the dinner. What a way to end our trip!

We were not happy that we could not take photos of that outstanding food. All our phones were in the hotel being charged after a long day.

Here’s a photo I found on line of that Gnocchi. It does not do it justice but gives you an idea.

All in all it was great adventure. My friends fell in love with France. Me? I’ve been in love with France for
19 years and visit every chance I get. Would I do another bus tour? Not sure. I think I would do more research into the timing and stops. Those 1 nighters, getting in late and leaving early in the morning were
not my idea of travel. But the the price was right. Even with our added extra days and all my shopping I spent under 4K for 10 days. That’s a deal. Yes, there were glitches here and there, but the good far outweighed the bad. I did tell my friends that if they want to return to Paris we would get an apt. next
time and go at a slower pace.

I will see them soon and go over their hundreds of photos. So I might post more later.

I absolutely loved Eze! Your pics sure made me smile

We too stayed at the Ellington for part of our time in Nice. It was fine, but I had wished the a/c was running when we were there in May, but they had not turned it on yet.

Sugarmaple, we are on a whirlwind trip stopping in Paris for two nights end of May before flying to Berlin. I have to pick out one thing to see for sure. The Opera this time for sure.
