Did you know that there is a Point Zero des Routes de France star in the pavement in front of Notre Dame?
All through France, the highway signs tell you how far away you are from Paris Notre-Dame.
RnR-you are special and no more talk of wrinkles!

I guess I'm not reading ellen's post the same way others read it. I read it to say that the 1st offers more areas with easy evening walks and then mentions those places as being among those easy walks. It doesn't say they are in the first, just that if you stay in the first, they are nearby!

And I really do apologize RNR, I didn't mean "people like" the way it sounded. It's just that I keep reading these posts and I thought it was clear that they meant things being "near" the mentioned arrondisements, not in. And you were not the only one who mentioned that fact so I was beginning to think I was missing something. I was sincerely trying to figure out what the controversy was and what I was missing. Now I guess I see it. We just interpreted ellen's post differently, I guess.

And I saw a map this summer which also placed Notre Dame in the 5th across the Seine from where it really is. Not sure if that was a Michelin or what.

Ah, I can relax ... I'll now just rub in a little of the ole lush and watch those wrinkles do an arrondisement, as fast as one may say pashmina!

Don't forgt the creme brulee, RnR!

RnR Nov 18th, 2002 09:44 AM

no, no, Patrick - don't ever apologize to me, at least not until I get through apologizing to everybody I owe. Keep up the good posts - you are a mainstay, and appreciated.
