Which way to Heathrow?

Heading to Heathrow (terminal 2) on a Saturday morning for a flight back to the USA. Staying in Victoria (close to Victoria station) and have a Oyster card/7 day travelcard, if that matters. What's best way to Heathrow (family of 3 with minimal luggage) and how long should we plan to get there??

Would prefer sone sort of public transport (maybe Heathrow Express, Elizabeth line or Tube- via Paddington station) unless a car is comparable price wise . Thanks.

Fromm Victoria - District line tube to Hammersmith, at Hammersmith easy change to Piccadilly line directly to terminal 2.

A car service like justairports would be more expensive but for three really not by that much.

If your seven-day travel card includes the Saturday, that would make the tube to Heathrow much less expensive.

Yes the tube will be less expensive -- but generally when a visitr has a 7-day travelcard it only cover zones 1 and 2 and not all the way to LHR. So they would have to pay extra to get out to zone 6.

Thanks everyone. We do have 7-day travelcards and day 7 is the day we leave. It appears the extra to add zone 6 is less since we will be traveling off peak times and already have an Oyster card, so that might be best.

Anyone take the Elizabeth line to Heathrow? Appears to be a slightly faster trip than other Tube lines (and still much less than Heathrow Express.)

The Elizabeth Line is great - I've ridden it a few times (though it still has teething problems from time to time). However Victoria is not near any Lizzy Line station. So you'd have to get to Bond Street, or Tottenham Court Rd, or Paddington etc -- that make no sense to me if one is already near Victoria Station and can just get on a District Line and an easy transfer at Hammersmith (just a few steps across the same platform) instead of schelpping across London. You could take the Circle Line around to Paddington and wait for the next Elizabeth Line train - but by the time you got there you would have already transferred through Hammersmith and be several stops towards LHR.

Yes -- Lizzy is faster -- but you have to get there first . . .

there are days when I get depressed as a Brit, but you brought a ray of sunshine into a painful day, "we call it Lizzy!"

Makes sense janisj. Thank you. Is there any way to find out approximately how long taking the District line-Hammersmith-Picadilly-Heathrow tube trip will take so we make sure we have sufficient time to get to airport early enough??

For all bus/tube/DLR trips you can use the TFL website . . . but from Victoria to LHR Terminals 2-3 take about 45 minutes so I think of it as an hour to be on the safe side.
