which Venice hotel?-antico doge, giorgione, san marco palace

All have quad rooms at similar prices. Have done a search but any additional comments or recommendations? Also, any restaurants close to these hotels that you can recommend?

I have used and can highly recommend the Hotel Giorgione. It is in the Cannaregio district which I love because it's not touristy, nearby there are a lot of shops and restaurants and is very close to Rialto. I like staying in this district more than in San Marco. The hotel is very clean, with a very friendly staff, and serves one of the best breakfasts I've had in Europe.

Thanks Bill for your reply. Some of Fodor's reviewers complained about the cleanliness of the rooms--glad to hear that was not a problem. Did you happen to stay in one of the duplexes? If so, how would you describe the room? Thanks!

ccc,
We have also stayed and highly recommend this hotel. Also agree with bill regarding the breakfast.
I'm not sure what you mean about the duplexes-we had a very nice room with a king bed. Spotless.
