Which Train Station in Venice

I need help with booking my train trip from Verona to Venice. I will be staying in the San Marco area. Can anybody tell me which train station to book my ticket to. I thought there was only one station, Maestre but someone told me there is two.
Thank you

You want Santa Lucia. Master is on the mainland.

You can quickly grasp which station to use by looking at the map, https://www.google.com/maps/@45.4630...8669,13z?hl=en

Mestre is a station on the main last (about 10 o'clock position in the map referenced with train station symbol). It is technically a suburb of Venice. However, that is from the
jurisdiction point of view and it is something that confuses tourists who envision Venice only as the islands part.

Venezia S. Lucia station is on the islands part. It is where the letter "C" of Venice is located on the map referenced.

If you are going to San Marco, Venezia S. Lucia is the closest station.

The relevance of "Mestre" is for those who uses Venice as a way point between the cruise port, the airport, and other points in Italy WITHOUT getting into the islands part of Venice.

Mestre is on the mainland - a station with connections everywhere.
You want Santa Lucia, the terminus station right in Venice. You travel on a causeway from the mainland to VENICE.
Pull up a map and it will make sense to you.
