Which town in Northern Italy by train from Paris?

We want to spend several weeks in Italy next year and will arrive from Paris. Initially we want to visit the northern parts. We want to go to Cinque Terra out of St Margarita Ligure , Bellagio via Como as well as Verona, Venice etc. My question is where would we be best arriving in Italy ? I was thinking maybe Genoa ? Milan? What do people think? Thanks.

Hello Peteralan, if you want to go to the Cinque Terra first I would think that arriving in Genoa would be the best.

Hi Peter - The budget airline Easyjet flies from Paris to Milan (Malpensa or Linate) and Pisa.
www.easyjet.com

Myair flies Paris-Venice.
www.myair.com

Ryanair flies Beauvais-Treviso.
www.ryanair.com

For other budget airline options go to:
www.whichbudget.com

Hope this helps ...

Use www.bahn.de for train connections to see journey times.
If you want to go to the Cinque Terre, enter one of the five villages, and look at the journey from Paris to, say, Monterosso. Similarly, try Como, Verona or Venezia as your destination.
Many journeys from Paris to northern Italy can be completed in one day using TGVs. You can save time by travelling on the overnight trains. The web site may give connections that involve changing trains in the middle of the night and these should be ignored: either travel by day or spend a whole night in a sleeping compartment.

Hi P,

I agree with SJ, fly Paris ORY to Venice VCE on www.myair.com and start your Italy itinerary there.

Venice, Verona, Bellagio, CT. Fly home from Rome.

Thanks everyone. Ira, good suggestion as I want to fly home from Rome via Hong Kong.
