Which side of road in Rome?

Where have I been? A friend of mine just told me that they drive on the left side of the road in Italy. Is this true? Thanks.

No, it's not correct. Rules for driving in Italy and the rest of continental Europe is the same as driving in the US.

It's UK & Ireland that are different.

It was my experience that in Rome, the center line was for advisory purposes only.

In Naples, it seemed that the center line was the moto lane.
