Which room number at Hotel Flora in Venice?
We have reserved a room with a view of the garden at the Hotel Flora in Venice this fall. Upon more research I have discovered that this highly recommended hotel has a few undesirable, dark, very small rooms. Does anyone know which rooms they are? Can anyone recommend a great room number? All the rooms are the same price and I want to make sure that I am getting the most for my money. I would like to call the hotel back and make sure that we don't get one of the smaller dark rooms. Thanks for your help!

Per the book "Cheap Sleeps in Italy":
#47 is very popular due to view of Salute Church, #34 is relatively large and overlooks the garden. All rooms are nice but the best overlook the garden, and you can specify larger vs smaller when you book.
When I stayed there my room was quite small and the bathroom teeny, but I loved it anyway.
Hotel Flora e-mail is [email protected].
Location is 5 minute walk from Piazza San Marco, on a quiet side street
(alley, really, but that's Venice) off
Calle Larga 22 Marzo.

Thanks all for responding to my post. I called the hotel back and the desk clerk said that none of the rooms which overlook the garden are the small/dark ones. He said that because I have booked so far in advance and requested a garden view I would not end up with one of these rooms. He implied that these rooms are the last to be booked. We'll see what happens--too bad I have to wait until Sept. 27, 28, 2001 to find out!
