Which passes to buy?

We will be in Rome for six nights, Florence for eight nights, with side trips, and Paris for eight nights. Wondering which train/bus, museum, etc. passes you would recommend. We are not afraid to walk, but would prefer not to do so to the point of exhaustion. (we are a reasonably fit pair of 73 yr olds) Thank you for your assistance,
Dupher

This link to my "forever under constructon website" should answer your questions about Rome.

Are you traveling by train - especially between Italy and Paris - if so the France-Italy railpass may be of benefit - or may not - depends on your type of travel

Thanks Dave and Bob,
Present plan calls for flying to Paris from Bologna....anyone have suggestions for Florence and Paris?
Thanks again
P.S. Train from Rome to Florence, trains (I guess) for side trips, train or bus from Florence to Bologna to catch flight to Paris

Florence is small enough to walk around in - surprisingly compact - fit 73 yrs old no problem - so no transit pass but there is a Florence museum pass that would be worth it if doing the major museums - buy it at the museums themselves.

Rome has a good deal Lazio transit pass that covers everything in Lazio - Rome and the surrounding area - again buy at transport stations. But transport in Rome is very cheap and the city centre to is eminently walkable so you may just want to pay as you go there.

In Paris Carte orange or its new name is an absolute bargain if the valaidity period (Mon-Sun i think) are good for you.

Here's the actual Roma Pass site--transit and museums in one.

Robespierre,

When I clicked on your Frommers link, I found what I think is some incorrect information. I believe that with the new t+ ticket you can transfer from bus to bus and from bus to tram (or vice versa), but not from Metro train to bus. I also believe that while a single ticket has always been good anywhere the Metro goes, on the RER it is only good in zone 1. The reason I think this is true is based on fare pricing I've done on the Transilien site. Please correct me if I'm mistaken.

The beat goes on...at the risk of being repetitious.....
Many thanks,
