I would go for #1 as Russborough house is definitely worth a trip it's in the news at the moment as some of its paintings have just been stolen)

Sharon,

Powerscourt is lovely but probably not as great in the winter, The waterfalls are beautiful as well. Forget number 5 I would not reccommend at all (I live in Dublin!) I would go for 1 or 4. I think rossborough house was in the news the other day for being robbed of a Reubens painting by the local Gangsters in Dublin as it was previously done by the General (a famous now deceased gangster) Get the film the General out and it should be the same house!
Enjoy

Hi Sharon,
Just for your information: it's just been announced that Russborough House is set to close early this year, due to the recent robbery there. So, unless you're intending to go there in the spring, it probably won't be included in your daytrip options..
Have a nice trip
JO

Another place that we found to be very interesting, though we are not horse people, is the Irish National Stud and Japanese Garden in the same general area of Wicklow.
