Which metro ticket for a whole weekend??
Hello :-)
My boyfriend and I are going to spend a week-end in September (Friday morning until Sunday evening) in Paris and I'm wondering if there's a special week-end metro ticket to get around ?? Happy Friday :-) linchen |
Not worth trying to hunt one down - get carnets.

Hi linchen,
I agree. For 10 E you get 10 tickets. That should be enough. |
Hej, thank you for your answers. I thought that for 3 days one carnet per person is not enough ??
I found some Info on the "Paris Visite pass" which is approx. 20 Euro for 3 days zone 1-3. What do you think? In which zone is the airport Charles de Gaulle?? linchen |
Depending on how much you think you're going to be using the metro & bus, you could look at the Mobilis pass, which is 5,30€ for one day unlimited use in Zones 1 & 2.
CDG is in zone 5, so a Paris Visite pass is not the best deal. (It would be 37,35€ for a 3 day zone 1- 5) |
A 3 day (3 x 24 hrs) Paris visite pass for 3 zones (which is all you will need) costs only 18.25 euro. With this pass you will get reductions in museums, on the Open Tour bus, etc. I found it to be well worth its value!
A 10 ticket carnet is 10.50 euro. |
Many of the things on the Paris Visite pass you will not even see if you are there for 3 days. A carnet is 10 rides split between the two of you. Even if you need to buy another one, a Visite pass is just not economical--basically ever. A one day Mobilis pass could be a good investment because you can use it for unlimited use--including the buses for which you need a new ticket if you have to change. The buses are really a great way to get around and see even more.

I would add that you will undoubtedly walk much more than you even expect--it is very much a walking city with many main sights close together. Plus, it is just fun to do so.

Hi lin,
We recently took my 87 year-old mother to Paris. We saw all of the major sites and then some. We used 9 metro tickets each. |
Besides kilometers of walking, we also used the metro a lot during our 3 days in Paris and were glad with our Paris Visite card. To each his own, of course.

Hello,
thanks a lot, you convinced me and since we don't even plan to visit museums we'll go for the carnet :) and take additional single tickets from and to the airport :) linchen |
