Which Marriott
 

We plan on visiting London this July and aren't sure which Marriott to stay at using our points. We are 2 adults and 1 teenager. Our choices are: Marriott Hotel County Hall, London Marriott Hotel Marble Arch or Renaissance London Chancery Court Hotel. Also, is it feasable to visit Paris from London in 1 day?

I have not actually stayed in any of the London Marriotts, so this is based purely on location, but all else being equal I'd pick County Hall or possibly Chancery Court. If the maps on the Marriott site are correct, the Marble Arch is not that close to a tube stop and it's a bit out of the way as far as tourist attractions. The County Hall location has you right across the river from Big Ben and Parliament.

Also - it's feasible to visit Paris in a day, yes. You won't see a lot, but you can do it.

I have only stayed at County Hall, but we (including two kids) really liked the location. If you have status with Marriott, ask for a river view room. You will be able to look out and see Big Ben, the Parliament Buildings and the London Eye! It is very convenient, and a 5 minute walk from the Westminster tube stop.

Of those ONLY consider Chancery Court or Country Hall.

County Hall is very nice and is right AT the Eye on the river. Most rooms have wonderful views of the Thames, Eye and big Ben/Parliament. It is across the river from Westminster tube station and a short walk from Waterloo tube/train.

Chancery Court is just a very <u>very</u> nice hotel. It won't have those views of Big Ben but it is close to Holborn tube station (on the direct line from LHR) the British Museum and not too far from Covent Garden

I've only stayed at Country Hall... 'twas very nice.

But, check the reviews at Marriott Insiders. You must be a Rewards Member to access it but it doesn't cost anything to join.

I know there are a number of reviews on the London properties on their forum.

I'm a major fan of the Chancery Court having stayed there many times. It would get my vote. If you'll be three in a room, the CC's rooms with two queen beds are very large, service is excellent, club lounge very good, location is great, etc.

The hotel's bar and restaurants are expensive but you are close to Covent Garden and the West End so plenty of choices outside the hotel.

Of course it's feasible to go to Paris for the day. From central London, Eurostar from St. Pancras station would be the logical choice. By taking the earliest train over and last train back you could see a bit of the city, have a nice lunch, shop, go to one of the smaller museums, take bateaubus along the Seine, etc.

Frankly, I would save Paris for when you have more time as I never tire of London and Paris deserves more than a day trip. But it's an option that's there for you.
