Which Market to go on a Sunday?

Which market do you recommend for a Sunday? The one in Greenwich or the one at Spitafields?

Spitalfields is much bigger, and close to the mixed/general street markets of Brick Lane, Petticoat Lane, and within about ten minutes' walk of Columbia Road flower market.

Greenwich is a much smaller market - but it is on the doorstep of the National Maritime Museum, Old Royal Naval College, Observatory, Cutty Sark, Fan Museum and a pretty magnificent park (and Blackheath if you want to walk that bit further).

Depends whether you're looking to concentrate on shopping and markets, or have a day with more variety.

Do you have to go on a Sunday? If so we love the Greenwich market as there are many other things to do when you finish. Personally

I love Borough market Fri. and Sat. we go every time we are in London and I have my favorite dealers and after we stop for lunch at Wright Bros seafood!

Spitalfields has something going on in the marketplace Thursday-Sunday but Sunday is the big day when you can link with Columbia Flower Market and all the madness of Brick Lane. You can also stop by the Geffrye Museum for a wander in the garden and a look at the (free) galleries. Plus Dennis Severs' House is open (limited hours). Sunday is a big day in East London!
