Which is better???

My daughter and I are going to travel to London in Feb. Wondering which airport to travel to..Heathrow vs. Gatwich?
Which has easier access to hotels, sites, transportation.?

It makes very little difference, because there are very good transport options from each. I'd go with whatever airline and airport has the cheapest and most convenient tickets.

WillTravel is correct, and let me add that in either case you should stay in the city and not near the airport. Heathrow is probably a little closer to the city than Gatwick, but it's not enough of a difference to be a determining factor. Go with the better airfare/schedule.

Which is ruder? EXpecting people to "open" your thread t see what it is you're aking about? Or my pointing out to that it was rather inconsiderate of you to choose such an ineffective message header?

Maybe my action is the ruder. If so, I apologize - - having still gotten my point across.

Best wishes,

Rex

Rex - I got slated a while back for suggesting exactly the same thing.

And I'm not entirely sure why Ira topped this....

For the record - either airport is fine - slightly shorter journey into Paddington (in both cases use the Express service - a couple of pounds more but makes a huge difference). I'd only think about whether it affects the airline you fly with.

The only time you need to pay attention to which airport, is if you are continuing on to another flight. i.e., You don't want to arrive Heathrow and have to connect to your next flight at a different airport. Staying in London, it doesn't matter much where you land.
