Reseach on Fodors leaves me with two hotels. (Travelnut: THANK YOU!)http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...2&tid=34877440

1. Hotel St.Jacques

Based on the Tripadvisor reviews, I'd choose Hotel St Jacques...

(note: there are 2 Hotel California's, so make sure you check the one in St Germain; the other one is in the 8th)

Thank you again.

On the B&B thread you recomend Hotel Familia, Hotel Louvre Forum and Hotel Madeleine Opera.

Would any of them be a better choise than the St.Jacques?

The St. Jacques will be pretty hard to beat. Large room, friendly staff, well - decorated, excellent location, great price.

I haven't stayed at the hotels, but I had compiled some info on the St Jacques (and have considered staying there myself, for what that's worth)

Attic rooms are the smallest and cheapest
#9 has twin beds, large bathroom w/bathtub, balcony & faces street; 12 of the rooms have views of Panthéon &/or Notre-Dame
6 floors, the elevator only goes to the 5th floor

Thank you so much! I have requested some additional info from the St.Jacques(travelling with my mom and my one-year old).

You guys are the best! So much info, and detailed, in so short time...

Plus Hotel St Jacques has the 'history' element, with the film "Charade" (Cary Grant, Audrey Hepburn) having been filmed there.

It's much cheaper too.

I'd not go to the Hotel california simply on the basis of how much the web site annoyed me.
