Last summer my 20 y/o and I went to Greece for the first time. Planning the trip was a little overwhelming, but I did some research and received some really good advice on this forum. Eventually, we went with Naxos for 3 nights, Mykonos for 1 night and Paros for 4 nights, an itinerary which worked well for us. We stayed within walking distance of the port on both Naxos and Paros in comfortable airbandb accommodations.
On Naxos we rented bicycles and took a great ride to an abandoned resort that is a mecca for graffiti artists. We also rented paddle boards one afternoon, which was really fun. The labyrinth was wonderful to wander around and we ate and drank really well.
Mykonos was just ok for me. I didn’t find it very appealing, but felt obligated to give my son a taste of it. I might be interested to go back once I retire and able to travel in October or May. As I’m sure you’ve learned, it’s an expensive and crowded island.
Paros was my favorite and I’m going back there for 8 nights this summer. The bus system is convenient and we hit 3 or 4 beaches, walked part of the Byzantine Trail and had a fantastic Farm to Table dinner. The plan for this summer is to expand my knowledge of the beaches on Paros and to check out Antiparos - and further sample the baked goods from the excellent bakery in Parikia. Can’t wait!
