which doge & secret itinerary tour?

My fiance found a tour that sounded like a pretty comprenhensive combo of the Doge and Secret tours, but it is only offered at 11am on Sat and we will not be arriving until noon. Others I've seen seem much shorter... Can someone please tell me who has the best tour to sign up for? Is there an online way to do so in order to avoid lines and have things be most convenient? My guess is it will be smarter to do the first tour of the day on Sunday rather than Sat afternoon... Thank you for any help! We definitely want to know we're taking the best tour(s) possible for this.

I think there is only the Secret Itineraries tour given by the Doge's Palace. There should be more than 1 a day. Are you just there for the day? Here's a thread with info on pre booking. If you read all the way down to the bottom, it seems easiest is to PHONE yourself to book or get your hotel to book for you.

I believe you can now book on the museum's website. I haven't done it yet since we're not going until June, but it looks straightforward:
www.museiciviciveneziani.it go to English, then special tours and itineraries.

I will be there next week and booked the Doge's Palace Secret Tour through www.tickitaly.com. I received my confirmation and voucher the next day by email.

tickititaly will cost you 21 euros per person as compared to calling the phone number which will cost 16 euros and doesn't have to be pre-paid. You still have to go to the same place and pick up your ticket, so why not just call? Ira gives the number above and it is an English speaking person that will take your order.

Unless (a), they've lost your reservation, (b) the guide doesn't show up, (c) the substitute gide doesn't show up.

Then there is only 1 English tour pd. :)

If our reservation for the Secret Tour is at 11:35, will we be allowed to enter and tour the rest of the palace on our own BEFORE that time? Thanks

Gipsygirl I just checked on the sight you posted and it showed no tours for Tuesday, Oct 16 which is when we will be there and hoped to take the tour. Does anyone know why there would be no tours that day?
