Which direction best on Lake Garda drive?
I've found that you can get a completely different experience driving a road in one direction as opposed to the opposite direction. I will be near Lake Garda next spring, and I only have time to drive around it once (of course, I will stop in some of the towns on the way). Can anyone compare the drive going clockwise around Lake Garda to the drive going counter-clockwise in terms of the beauty of the scenery and the scariness of the drive?

Hello Driver, The west side is the more difficult because of the many tunnels near the north end. I would suggest you drive it going south from Riva, but check on the road between Riva and Limone--perhaps construction. <BR>The east side is easy. Be sure to stop at Malcesine and Riva and Gardone. Those are my favs. Have fun !
