which city is best
 

My 16 year old son and I will leave Venice 6/25 and have time to see one more city but must be in Hamburg on the 28th so we can catch an early plane on the 29th. We are looking for something on the way. We would stay there 2 nights. What would you recommend? We are thinking maybe Salzburg, Vienna, Berlin, or Munich.

Why not Hamburg?

We will be starting from Hamburg and so will already have spent some time there.

I would recommend that you take in Munich and take your 16 year-old to the Deutsches Museum. He will love it. Nymphenburg Palace has a coach house full of Cinderella coaches that is great to see also.

He seems to think he'd like Munich, too, and maybe it's less overwhelming than Berlin for that short a time.

Did I mention the Hofbrau Haus... oops he's only 16. Maybe he will like the music.

It's so pleasant to travel by train from Venice to Vienna.
