Which cities?

I am planning a trip to Spain at the end of May/early June and am planning on visiting Seville, Mallorca, and Barcelona. I am pretty much set on the first two, but I'm not sure if Barcelona or Madrid would be a better choice. Or maybe Valencia? Any advice?

I prefer Barca myself. E-mail me if you would like some of my notes.

I've heard Barcelona is a much more youthful culture and it is much better for Americans here opposed to Madrid. ?? Not speaking from experience, but I have heard that again and again.

I have been to both and I would vote hands down for Barcelona. I did enjoy the museums in Madrid but having done it once is enough. On the other hand, since visiting Barcelona a few years ago, I have been wanting to go back so I have planned a return visit for this summer.

Barcelona has a lot of culture, lots of open green spaces, beautiful architecture, an old quarter which has lots of ambiance and is wonderful to stroll, good restaurants (the food is much better in Barcelona than Madrid), and Las Ramblas is a wonderful central meeting area with restaurants and strret performers.

Have fun in which ever city you choose! Oh, and please post a trip report when you get back. I will be visiting Mallorca for the first time this August and would love to hear about it.
