Which car rental agency in Ireland?

So I've read through a lot of the treads on the subject. I think I understand the insurance requirements. But what company do most of you use? We'll be flying into Shannon and need an automatic for 2 weeks. There seems to be a lot of local rental agencies or consolidators. It's confusing!! Too many options...ugh

We have always rented through Auto Europe -- good experience.
Kemwel is sometimes cheaper, but Auto Europe will usually match the lowest price you come up with.

Thank you. I've rented with Auto Europe on the continent so will give them a try. Good to know they match prices.

I belive Kemwel and Autoeurope are now related. Just a note though, both are consolidators, so they are NOT the rental company. Most likely you will end up with Avis or Europcar (at least out of Shannon). Other options are irishcarrentals.com (Sixt), O'Scannlain travel (Hertz), Dan Dooley. There are others.

We just got back, rented through Dan Dooley. We went with a stick shift, but the price was great - the service was great - pick-up and drop-off very easy AND they had the portable GPS we wanted.
