In the middle of England really is the best place. Everywhere is just a day trip - Wales,York,Bath to name but a few. Check out www.blackcountrystays.com The Black Country is a really friendly place and Stourbridge train station links up to Stratford and Hereford in less than an hour. There are brilliant pubs and restaurants locally and some wonderful National Trust houses and properties within a ten mile radius.
