Which area in London to stay with hubby and two young adult sons?
Hi everyone,
One of our sons is going to be spending the fall semester in London and we are planning on going with him before the semester begins in September. We want to stay in a flat for at least 5 nights and would like to be central to pubs, theaters and a tube or bus stop. I like a couple of the flats from London Connection near Leicester Square. Would you recommend this area? And does anyone have any experience with London Connection?
We also plan to visit Paris too, but I haven't even begun to research Paris yet! I appreciate all feedback! I thought I would have plenty of time to research everything as we were originally going to visit at Thanksgiving, but our plans have changed! Thanks in advance!!

It's been several years, but my sister-in-law booked a three-bedroom flat through London Connections. It was located on Queen's Gate in Chelsea, and it was beautiful and quite close to the Gloucester Road tube stop. Three of us mother/daughter combos used it and had such a good time. One of my nieces was attending Imperial College for a semester and had a room nearby.

That covers about ALL of central London
But Leicester Sq is about as central as one can get. Walking distance to tons of things and good transport options to everywhere else that isn't w/i walking distance.
You'd be w/i a few minute's walk of Covent Garden, the river, Trafalgar SQ/National Gallery/Nat'l Portrait Gallery, Soho/Chinatown - and more theatres that you can count. Only a bit longer walk would get you places like Westminster Abbey/Big Ben, Buckingham Palace etc etc . . . .

Cockspur St is just off Trafalgar Square and Haymarket.
St Martin's Lane is really just a couple of minutes walk around the corner from Trafalgar Sq and between Covent Garden and Leicester Sq
they are both exceedingly central and good for transport. I'd be totally happy w/ either one.
