Which apartment would you choose?
The following 2 apartments seem like they fit our needs (mostly airconditioning because we're going to be in Paris in August, internet access and a central location for 158 but not sure where 110 is located?). Which would you choose? We're 5 people.
http://www.vacationinparis.com/apts/id_110.htm $330/has airconditioning/i'm not sure about the location? http://www.vacationinparis.com/apts/id_158.htm $345/has airconditioning/I'm not sure about the kitchen? |
110 is not in Paris. Maybe the commute is not too bad, but if you are paying that much, I'd want to be in Paris in a nice Parisian area.

Pont de Neuilly is 8km from Place de la Concorde, hardly out in the woods and not much different from, say, Parc Montsouris and a lot easier on the Metro.
I would be suspicious of the other one because it is clearly built into the rooftops, and there is no mention of an elevator. |
I love VacationinParis and use them.
However, #110 is the ONE property they have that's not located in Paris. Definitely scratch that one. #158 looks good. It has an elevator to the 4th floor and you only need to walk up one flight of stairs to reach the apt. on the 5th floor. It's also 810 sq. ft. - pretty big for Paris. Re. kitchen: Exactly what kind of cooking are you planning to do? For simple meals, I think it's OK. Also, you might discuss with the other four in your party to see if a slight budget bump is possible. That would open up a lot more options to you. Particularly some of the 2BR apartments listed for districts 1, 4,5, 6, & 7. |
Thanks everyone.
bardo1-- unfortunately the others in my group are my hubby and 3 teens ;-). Question-- is airconditioning a must in August in Paris? It looks like we could get something for less than $345 if we didn't have to have airconditioning. |
I wouldn't need a/c but I am weird about that. I am okay with fans.
158 definitely! Looks nice, and I would think the kitchen is fine as long as you're not planning to cook big, elaborate meals. I've never stayed in that area but it is very central. |
158 is certainly a better location. And just how much cooking are you planningon doing? I do breakfast..coffe juice and something from a nearby patisserie but eating out in Paris is one of the pleasures of trips there. Even picnicing is fun for lunch!

I'd choose 158, based on aesthetics and location.
