Which airport is better for a connection: FCO (Rome) or MXP( Milan Malpensa)

Hi,

All things being equal, which of these two airports would be better to connect from a flight from the US to a flight into Venice? I will be flying Continental into Italy and connect with Alitalia . The Alitalia flight will be ticketed as part of the Continental ticket as a codeshare.

Is one of the airports easier to navigate than the other? I have flown many times into FCO but I never had to connect.

Thank You for any feedback.

It isn't that far from Milan to Venice, so you could take a train. Rome is farther away and an additional flight could be called for.

It's alot easier to fly directly into Venice. I do.

But if you must fly either into Rome or Milan, as was mentioned above, Milan is only 169 miles from Venice and Rome is 321 miles . .

Easier to take a train . . Milan to Venice!!
