Which Airport in Berlin
We gonna stay in Berlin around New Years Eve. We have several flight options. Which of the two Berlin Airports is better in your view? Flight to Berlin-Schönefeld are cheaper.

Both airports can be a major PITA until the new airport gets opened - whenever that may be.
In general, Tegel airport is closer to the Western and Eastern city center - appr. 20-30 minutes by bus.
It takes around one hour to get into town from Schönefeld airport.
If you plan to rely on public transport, the buses from Tegel airport can get seriously crowded during the daytime hours.
The trains from Schönefeld airport can be more convenient, not crowded - though you need to walk 1/4 mile from the airport to the train station.
I use both airports frequently, and neither one is great.
If you know which hotel you will be staying at, it would be helpful to know the location to determine which airport is better located.

We have used Tegel in the past since it was a shorter taxi ride from our hotel. But for our upcoming trip we are flying into one airport and out of the other so may use the S-Bahn from one and a taxi to the other OR a taxi to/from both.
It is simple: how much are you willing to spend for convenience?

Better in which way? Is airport the objective of your trip or what the flights in/out of that airport can do?
The flights to/from Schönefeld are cheaper because that is what the budget airlines Ryanair, Easyjet, Norwegian, Transavia, etc. use. Tegel is used by all other carriers.

Dont use a taxi, it can cost you 50 Euro from Schönefeld. Try a shuttle bus direct to hotel....its only 20 Euro ....
