Which Airline for comfort Non stop to CDG?
 

The difference in airfare is only $20. So which airlines has more room and comfort features in coach. I am 5'7' 175 lbs and hope to sleep most of the flight (Ambien). Unfortunately I can not remember which one I flew 4 years ago when my knees were touching the seat in from of me for 9 hours (ouch).

I don't think it makes any difference in coach. I believe both Air France and Continental have 31" pitch in Coach -- AA used to be better (at least in that way, not others IMO) as they deliberately had more space. Then for some reason they got rid of that policy and marketing idea and refitted their planes to cram in more seats, so I imagine they are now also 31" (they used to be about 33"). Some AA guru can maybe comment on that. These are very small seats and your knees shouldn't be touching the seat in front at your height, but close to it. If you slouch, maybe.

There are no other comfort features on planes in coach that I can think of, at least to me. Food can differ a little, but I suspect that's not what you mean.

My suggestion is to get the plane type off of the airline website and go to www.seatguru.com and look around. THey have notes on all the US plane types that can help (I don't know if they have Air France.) Even within one airline there can be differences within the planes and there are ALWAYS differences in the seats. This site will help you pick a 'better' seat. (Better being a realitve term here!)

dutyfree, I'm leaving from San Antonio, with the option of nonstop from either Dallas or Houston. Thanks CarolA, I will check out seatguru.

Air France, without question, is the best in coach-service is better, meals are far better than on the American carriers-I ordered a special seafood meal which was great-but the regular economy entrees on AF looked very good as well. The F/As were helpful, cheerful, and came through the cabin frequently with drinks and snacks -yes, and this was in coach. I'd fly Air France every time-have been very pleased with their service.

Air France now has two non-stops from IAH. One with a A330-200, one with a 777-200. CO has one flight with a 777-200, and AA has a 767-300 DFW-CDG.

In terms of seat comfort, I think it'll probably be AF's 332 > AF/CO 772 > AA 763.

And I agree with Girlspy. Food is better on AF.

Another vote for Air France, which is much better these days than American!

I'd probably go with CO to get the OnePass miles but if comfort is the fist priority the I'd go with Air France.

You can get Onepass miles (or NW, DL, or any other Skyteam miles) by flying AF. However, most discount coach fares on AF will only earn 50% CO EQMs if that's important. [100% spendable Onepass miles.]
