Interesting stories, Waldo.
I didn't mean specifically a paucity of Americans at Il Nostromo - I justs meant the area in general, especially inland. I can't remember seeing many, or any, Americans anywhere in the area except in Anzio. Lovely part of Italy, though. Lucky you to have ties there. |
I not only have ties to Naples, Gaeta, etc., but also to a place called "LUNEL" in Languedoc, France. It's right smack between Montpelier and Nimes. I'm pretty familiar with Provence. I keep seeing your name crop up on Provence and its' environs posts. It seems we must travel in the same circles. I don't know if I love southern France or Italy more. I'm nuts about Montpelier. Waddayou think?

Waldo, I know Lunel. Can't say I know it well, but I have a house in the Dordogne and I mosey around all of the southwest (and southeast) of France with some regularity - have for more than 20 years. More than 100 trips to date. I've passed through Lunel on quite a few occasions. And the reason I know the coast of Italy south of Rome is that I have done a couple of home exchanges between my house in the Dordogne and folks who own houses in Italy.
And I see you're in Frederick, MD. I'm in DC when I'm not traveling. If you ever come into "town," let me know, eh? |
Doggone! we're neighbors!
