Where Would You Stay in Sevilla?
 

We will be in Sevilla for 1 week in late February. We plan to rent an apt for that time. I have been reading about the different neighborhoods and can't decide which area sounds best. Any preferences you may have and why would be appreciated. Als one bedroom apts recommendations would also be appreciated. We've beenn to Sevilla once before but it's been along time. We enjoy walking and just want an area convenient to sightseeing and restaurants. Not really into nightlife so an apt that has a quiet bedroom is what we like.

Hi, yestravel! We stayed in the Centro area on Calle Pajaritos and LOVED the location. The street was quiet but the location was close to everything. Bar Estrella, a charming tapas place, is right down the street.

We had taken an apartment with the agency, veoapartment, which I was disappointed in, mostly because it was very sterile, on 3 levels and each level was very narrow. It just didn't have a homey feeling to it. I took the apartment because of the terrace, but it was so hot when we were there, we didn't really take advantage of it. I contrast that to our apartment in Cordoba, which we loved.

Hi! progol, i was just looking at your TR last night. We're skipping staying in Cordoba this trip -- probably just go for the day. Your Granada place looked good. We'll be there 3 nights so likely no apt.

Here's where I'm staying for 4 nights in October. One bedroom penthouse apartment with balcony. Location looks good and gets good reviews both on tripadvisor and booking.com

I would stay in the Triana neighborhood, but I was not all that keen on central Sevilla

I don't remember the name of the hotel we stayed in, but it was right next to the oldest restaurant in Spain [allegedly!]

it's a nice area, not too far from the centre, and there were many nice bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity.

kja, yes it certainly is. Its been a long time since I was in Sevilla.

massimpo, Triana certainly looks interesting and we will check it out on our visit. I think we'd prefer to be more central.

annhig, I will have to figure out where that is. I think we ate in that restaurant as it looks familiar.

yestravel - it's to the north of the Cathedral, about 12 mins walk from there. in fact if you click on the LOCALIZACIÓN button, it takes you straight to google maps.

El Rinconcillo from 1670 is next door to the new Sevilla landmark Las Setas/Metropol Parasol, and in the beginning of the very local atmosphere Macarena district with all the mudejar buildings, the markets and wonderful C/ Feria. IMO ten times more interesting than the famous, close by and very touristy Santa Cruz district: https://www.theguardian.com/travel/2...macarena-spain

And Triana, just across the bridge from the city river Guadalquivir, is very well worth a visit if you don't decide to stay here. A cradle of flamenco culture: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mFE9k0E-2Y&t=132s

I can also highly recommend the local feel yet very central San Vicente/San Lorenzo district. Close to both the major sights in the Santa Cruz district, the Macarena/Alameda area and Triana. And some of the best tapas bars in town are then on your doorstep (Eslava, Bodega dos de Mayo etc.).
