where would you go?
Where would you go if you were landing at Shannon (and departing from there) in mid September and had 10 days to go and do whatever you wanted to. Two in party are golfers and expecting to golf sometimes. None of us has ever been in Ireland before. Would you rent a house in a central location or just travel from B&B to B&B???

There isn't really separate threads by country, per se. When you enter the country, the only time that makes a difference is if someone clicks on Ireland in that list of countries at the top of the page. It's usually a good idea to actually use the word "Ireland" in the title of your post as well. Something like "where would you go in Ireland for 10 days"... you get the idea.
Oh, since you've never been, I'd say not to get locked down to one place OR to move every night. Maybe 3 bases to operate from, such as Kenmare, Dingle and Cashel or West Cork. All are very special places, all keep you on or near the west of Ireland and although I'm not a golfer, I have no doubt there must be courses near those areas.
Good luck!

I would definately spend a couple nights in Galway. You could stay in Kenmare or Killarney. The park is beautiful and from there you could do Dingle as a day trip if you don't want to stay there. The golf course at the Adare Manor looked nice and Adare was cute, but I didn't find too much to do in the town otherwise. The hotel was nice. Kinsale is suppose to have a good course and it is a very nice town.

Before we went to Ireland for the first time, we went to a travel agent to get brochures of the different tours -- golf tours, bus tours, self drive/B&B tours, etc. You get a brief description of the sites, towns, drives, etc, and tells you all the must see tourist places.
From there, you can decide on an itinerary depending on the places you want to see. With 10 days, including golf, you might want to concentrate on a certain region. We like the Southwest, and the Northwest areas.
Renting a house in a certain region is a good option with 3 days doing B&B's, maybe day of arrival and 2 days before departure.
Bunratty for the last night is very popular -- take in the medieval dinner and Durty Nelly's. Make a reservation for the dinner. It was fun. Above all, enjoy the Guinness.
