Where was the dark chocolate great in Ireland?

I recently came across a post stating they had found fantastic, world-class dark chocolate in Ireland. Foolishly, I mentioned this to my dark chocolate-loving spouse without having first written down the name and location of said source.

I did a search, "dark chocolate" with Ireland, and came up with interesting threads but not the information I need.

It could have been an old post. I recall it was in southern Ireland. Seems there was a church connection, as well.

We leave 9/15, and I predict I will be asked about "where is that famous dark chocolate?"

Help....and thanks.
Jim

I can't recall anything about a specific type of choch or place. Butlers Cafe's are coffee/chocolate shops with a few seats inside. You get a piece of chocolate for every coffee/tea etc ordered and it's your choice of what you can have. I wouldtry this. I like dark chocolate too!

I second the vote for Butler's chocolate - and their coffee isn't bad either. However, I wonder whether it was the chocolate factory in Ballinskelligs, Co. Kerry that you were thinking of? I know people who have visited there and said that the chocolate was superb. Here's their website - http://www.skelligschocolate.com/
If you're going to be in Kerry it might be worth a visit - it's at the very tip of the Iveragh peninsula - famous for its fabulous scenery and bad weather.

On an aside note...if you like turkish delight there are 2 places to buy it in Dublin. 1 is at the chester beatty library in the Silk Road Cafe. Another is in a small food shop in the Georges Arcade on Georges street.

I never had it until I moved here but try it!
