"Where Troy Once Stood" by Iman Wilkens

I'm approaching the half way point in this book. It is fascinating. Wilkens claims that the Troy of Homer was in England, just SE of Cambridge 60 miles north of London. His evidence is remarkable, at least to an archaeology novice like myself.

Has anyone else read this? Anyone in the profession? Any opinions? Contradictions?

Published by St. Martin's Press, 1990. I guess it hasn't made a spash. Bought it at a library used book sale, my favorite bookstore.

What does Wilkens have to say about Herr Schliemann's claim that it's near Ephesus in Turkey?

Wilkens says that the geography of England matches that of Homer but that the Schliemann site in Turkey does not. A History Channel story on Schliemann last night claimed that the treasures found by Schliemann were dated 1,000 years earlier than the battle of Troy. This is according to Russian carbon dating. Schliemann's treasure is still in Moscow, booty of WWII.
