Where to watch World Cup in Berlin

We'll be staying in the Hackescher Markt area of Berlin during the World Cup in late June and early July.

Where would be the best areas to join others outdoors watching some of the matches on TV screens?

Thanks.

The question will rather were you can NOT watch it
There has not been an official confirmation, but probably there will be the "fan mile" again at Brandenburg Gate. Huge screens, just you a few hundred thousand other spectators.
I think you will get more precise info once the event gets a bit closer, i.e. in 1-2 months.

Thanks. We chose Germany this time, hoping for much more excitement than England had 4 years ago!

In Rome last October and in Glasgow next week for Champions League matches I found places by:

1) going to Yelp.com and typing in sports bars or sports pubs, ordering by highest rated, and then reading the commentaries;

2) narrowing the Yelp map down to the area where I'm staying, then typing in 'pubs' or 'bars' (you could even use the word 'screens' as a search term) and then reading the reviews of nearby places - - in Glasgow it really made clear the differences in quality of experience between the different potential venues.

3) going to Google maps and typing in "sports bars Berlin", then zooming in to different areas, and reading some of the linked revieww

Thanks for the tip. I'll use that for the other German cities we'll be visiting.

The huge venues are a real experience. If you are really up for mass excitement the giant screens in central places are huge. If you prefer more "gemuetlichkeit" and actually sitting on a chair and hoisting a pour in comfort, then sports bars (even little ones) are all right.

P.S.
If you are interested in public viewing , the huge venues that dfourh described, the German term for that would be "public viewing"
World Cup is Weltmeisterschaft in German, but more commonly used is WM as shorthand.
So the full search phrase for Google should be
"public viewing wm 2016 <i>name of the city</i>"

Uh, Cowboy, the World Cup is this year, not 2016. The next World Cup is in 2018.

That was a typo.
WM 2014, not 2016.
