Looking for places to visit that is kid friendly in Paris?

You should re-post w/ a better title. Something like "Toddler friendly sites/activities in Paris?"

If the two-year old likes animals, I'd definitely recommend a stroll along the Quai de la Megisserie on a Sunday -the quai is lined with pet shops and you can pass a happy chunk of time looking at (and sometimes petting) the animals. You could combine this with a peek at the Marche aux Oiseaux (bird market, also on Sunday only) near the north side of Notre Dame. Le Jardin des Plantes is a great, small-scale zoo in the 5th, also worth at least one visit. There is a carnival-type thing set up in the Jardin des Tuileries, but don't know how many rides are OK for a little one. The cotton candy there is enormous and ranks as perhaps the best in the world, according to my daughter, a connoisseur of such treats... There are playgrounds, usually with sandboxes, all over the place, in every quarter, and you'll stumble upon them easily. Finally, bring a plastic bag when you go out to save your left-over lunch bread in so he can feed the ubiquitous pigeons as you wander the city. Bon voyage et bonne chance!msm4

Do 2-year olds care where they are, as long as he can run around?

There have been several threads on this subject, so try a bit of searching and some good suggestions might come up. However, I know the search function here is not the best.

Anyway...the play area in the grounds of the Rodin museum. Entertaining for your child, beautiful for you. The Paris Zoo (you will need to ride the metro, but the #1 line is stroller friendly, at least the new cars, they were designed by women with kids). go early when the animals are most active. The Guignol puppet shows in the Luxembourg Gardens--I took my niece to see Puss n Boots; they were also doing The Three Little Pigs, lots of toddler there and the kids get to sit in front. FYI, no strollers (aka "poussettes") allowed in the puppet theatre, they have to be parked on the side outside, but nobody's was touched or taken.
The carousel by the Eiffel Tower. The Parc Andre Citroen, which is one of the few places where everyone is allowed, even encouraged, to run all over on the grass. And it's mostly grass, so if your son falls, he won't be landing on gravel.

Check out the Fodors book "68 things to do..." also "Paris for Kids" by Karen Uhlmann (sp?). I think I got them both off of Amazon.com.

a 2 year old wont have a flippin clue where they are at and wont remember any of it..
IMO they would rather be at home with their own toys and their own yard.
too bad we cant ask them...

When my daughter last went she had a great time just hanging out in the park(s), pushing the little wooden boats around & riding the merry-go-rounds (which she still talks about). The zoo was also a nice surprise. She was nearly two at the time.

This active 2 going on 8 year old boy will love all of your suggestions. I will try to visit all of them while we are there. Thank you!
