Thanks for continuing to comment. The Kroller-Muller Museum does look interesting, and I will keep it in mind if I run out of things to do in Amsterdam (I doubt it though). I am near to finalizing accommodation arrangements but did take a look at the two recently suggested. Unfortunately, neither one was a good match for exactly what I am looking for. I was seriously contemplating a canal view room but then realized what the cost of a really nice one is--probably more than I want to spend. And, it also dawned on me that be being on a barge and cycling for ten days I will probably have plenty of opportunities for views of canals.

Maybe you'd want to look into staying in Noord, at the NDSM area. The Botel has an interesting option: they have rooms in their large BOTEL lettering on the ship. You'd need to get the ferry to get into Amsterdam. NDSM itself is an interesting area and it has some great restaurants and bars with a great view of Amsterdam across the water

Also, because of the biking, you'll have seen a lot of towns and even cities really in depth. It's not superficial. Those hours of walking time in smaller Dutch cities: good to make use of it.
If I were to track back to The Hague, don't just put the Mauritshuis on the list, go for the Panorama Mesdag. A stunning experience right from the 19th century ( I won't spoil)

My friend is staying right now at the Park Centraal and is loving it. Really amazing staff, great restaurant in the lobby with a tram stop right next to the hotel. Have a wonderful trip!
