My wife and I agree that this was the best of our trips to Europe. Pienza was fantastic, as were Montalcino, Montepulciano and Siena. This forum was instrumental in finding cities and places to stay, and trip adviser was fantastic in finding small restaurants which were fabulous (and I admit to being a food snob). I am already planning our trip next fall to Paris and driving to Normandy, Bordeaux, and ???.
Bobthenavigator, all your comments were helful. I think we could spend the next 10 years just going to places you recommend

Sorry for the delay. We have not done the lakes yet. This yeaer is Paris, Bayeux, Reims and Chateau Chantilly but I am already thinking about next year and it will be Italia. I was thinking of flying into Paris (we have non stop from Orlando) and taking the night train from Paris to Venice and I haven't been to Venice yet. But I am all ears for suggestions as to the Lakes region.
