Where to stay in Vienna
I am looking at Airbnb bookings for 3 nights in Vienna following a 6 day bike trip on the Danube. I have seen several listings in Josefstadt and Neubau. Would these be interesting places to stay and provide easy public transportation access to other parts of the city?

Josefstadt and Neubau are a way out. I don't know what your criteria are but we have stayed twice for a longer period at Palais Brambilla which is on both Airbnb and booking.com. A small apartment building with several apartments, owned by various members of a family. One of the owners has an office in the building (I think he might be an architect??). It's well-located because it is right on the Schottenring metro and along the Danube. It's also easy to walk into the city and there is a Billa supermarket (and a playground, doubt that applies to you) around the corner and a drogerie (ie. non-pharmacy drugstore) just down the street. Good luck!

I stayed at Pension Sacher. INCREDIBLE! A great apt across from St. Stephen's Cathedral. Looked out my window and there it was. The hosts were extremely welcoming. Had my name on the apt door like I was a full time resident. I wish I could describe how wonderful it was. Please check it out.

Pension Sacher
Thank you for the recommendation. It looks amazing, but unfortunately does not have availability for our dates in May.

Your recommendation of Brambilla apts. interests me. I checked out their website. Looks like I either have to write or phone them to obtain further information. No email provided and no prices. What was your experience?

It was a great experience but I can't comment on price any more because the two times we stayed there was about 10 years ago. But it was good for a longer trip (we had a couple of weeks there each time). If arriving by air, the airport bus stops I think at Schwedenplatz and you can just wheel your bags from there to the apartments. As I said everything was convenient, but there is a longer walk to sights such as the Stefansdom and the main pedestrian zone. Is there no price for them on booking.com? We went directly through their website because at that time they weren't on AirBnB or booking.com. Both apartments were good for a young family. If you have specific questions I will do my best to answer them.

If you’re looking for a comfortable and convenient hotel, we stayed at Hotel Austria Vienna for 3 nights and enjoyed our stay very much. It’s comfortable in an old-fashioned way, good service and very well-located. And the prices were very reasonable. Great buffet breakfast, too.

Your recommendation is appreciated. We have had the good fortune of learning a friend will be joining us on our trip so we will be in need of a facility that sleeps 3.
