where to stay in st. tropez?

Looking for any recommendations on places to stay in St. Tropez. Nothing fancy, 3 star is adequate. Would like good location though. Thanks in advance!

We always stay at the Hotel Lou Troupelen. 5 min walk to the Place de Lices, and just off the road to the Tahiti Plage. It has parking. Ask for room #125 - it's a little larger than the others, and the balcony looks out into a field with a few distressed grape vines & fig trees, instead of into the parking lot - more privecy.

Thanks Stu. You're always to my rescue. I just faxed them a reservation request but they are completely booked for the dates I want. Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks!

Nope - we've stayed there perhaps 5 times. Never wanted to try anyplace else - right price, right location, etc. Now when we go, we usually stay in an apartment for 1 or 2 weeks at a time.

I'm surprised that they are booked. I don't even think they are open yet for the season. We stayed at Lou Troupelen for 1 night in early/mid June in '03, and made reservations only a few days in advance - and it was a holiday too.

Does anyone have the web site address for Hotel Lou Troupelen?
