Where to stay in Monaco/Monte Carlo

I'll be in Monte Carlo/Monaco in June. Any recommendations on a place to stay?

Several years ago I stayed at the Metropole. Loved it!

Just as an alternate suggestion, you might want to look at hotels in Nice as well. I stayed there and took a bus to Monaco which only took about an hour if I remember correctly.

I noticed quite a few hotels between Nice and Monaco over-looking the Med.
I don't know though if any of them on are on the internet.
Just one word of advice- avoid the Le Meridien Beach Plaza. Not worth the prices and I would not recommend the hotel for any reason. I will not stay there again.

I'm with "Italiano". Cap d'Ail is walking distance of everything, set on a marina and very nice. It's a Marriott, so expect exactly that, but it is a less expensive alternative to Monte Carlo. However, if you do stay in M.C., go to the Metropole. The staff is kind and has no trouble remembering your name or forgetting to use it. Always a nice touch.

Depending on your time, you may want to consider Villefranche sur Mer. It is about 10 minutes east of Nice, 20 minutes west of Monaco. It has a nice beach, you can get rooms reasonably priced with sea views, pools, and a nice little village. It makes a good location for seeing the various villages besides Monaco. There is also bus service to cities. We stayed at the La Flore and had a wonderful view, and then visited Monaco from there.

We will be staying in Beau Soliel. Please let me know what that town is like? We will be there for 1 day. Thanks. Arlene K.

John- the Hotel de Paris in Monaco for the least exp.room with a sea view starts at 550 Euros and goes up to 685 Euros for high season...

here is the website:
http://hotelsdeluxe.com/HotelDeParis/

It is an INCREDIBLE hotel- right out of lifestyles of the Rich and Famous-
We had dessert in the cafe and then went to the casino...but the hotel is quite expensive...as is all of Monaco...

The Hotel du Paris is the most expensive and kind of stuffy. Next is the Hermitage right next door also expensive. We stayed at the Metropole right after it was opened, and it was great - we managed to get a deal, for every 2-nts, got 1-nt free.

For a more modern hotel, check out the Monte Carlo Grand right on the water, rooftop pool.

Sandi, Do the hotels you mentioned have a web site? Or an email address? Please advise. Arlene K.

littlear -

Type any hotel name and its city into a search engine such as google.com to find its website, if it has one, and/or links to booking sites which list it. These will nearly always have photos, and usually maps.

For example, "hotel paris monaco" found a number of sites, including the following:

http://www.monte-carlo.mc/lodging-mo.../gb_index.html

Do the same thing for any other hotels you're interested in and you are sure to find information.
