Any recommendations on a good place to stay in London to facilitate a typical family tourist vacation?

Oh - there are maybe 500 places in London that would meet some family's needs. Give us a break here - What is your budget? When are you going? How long is your visit? How many people?

I stayed at the Premier Travel Inn County Hall last summer. It was great and affordable (85 Pounds). The location is across Westminster Bridge from the Parliament Buildings and right by the London Eye.
