Where to stay in Cinque Terre?

My husband and I are planning to spend three nights in CT in early May, after visiting Rome and Venice, and before Florence/Tuscany. We will be in CT for our anniversary, so I am looking for a nice place, with a great view. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I also recommend the Porto Roca. Ask for one of the top story rooms.

Have you considered staying just outside the CT? Say, in Santa Margherita Ligure, from which the CT is easily reachable. More nice hotels in SML, and Portofino is just down the road.

A little farther yet we had a memorable stay in Camogli in the Hotel Casmona, steps from the train station. We had a large room with a large terrace overlooking the town and the beach. Great room (loved that terrace), great town.

It's about an hour on the train from Camogli to Vernazza.

Thanks for the tips! Is there really any advantage of one town of the CT over another?

I would go for Monterosso or Vernazza, possibly Corniglia. But as there are both train and boat transport between th cities pick your choice

Corniglia i think though is several hundred feet above its train station and boat dock - i guess there must be shuttle buses however

the other 4 5 Land stations are in the hearts of towns

We stayed in a beautiful B&B in Levanto, La Dolce Vita. Lovely owner, excellent breakfast, excellent location. Its so easy to get to all areas in the Cinque Terre by train, its measured in minutes. Levanto is charming and many great restaurants.
