where to stay in Berlin
We will be in Berlin for a week in March. What is a good area to see the sites. We are looking at doing Museum Island a city tour and one of the concentration camps in the area which we will have a guide take us to.
we are thinking Mitte is the most convenient location to stay in. Am I correct or should we be looking at another area. I am assuming Berlin will be running even if the weather is bad according to Atlanta, Ga. We will be dressed for the cold. We love it for a change. thanks for your help teach905 |
I always stay at the same place when I'm in Berlin--the Hotel Pension Bregenz. I couldn't tell you whether it's in Berlin Mitte or not. It's a short distance from the Kurfurstendam and Olivaer Platz.
It's inexpensive and comfortable. |

Prenzlauer Berg, in the Mitte, is a nice neighborhood that has become rather chic with a youngish crowd = lively streets - in old East Berlin but not far from Museum Island and the historic center of Berlin. |
We stayed in Mitte earlier this year, at a place called the Adina Hackescher Markt. It was €149 per night for a one-bedroom apartment with kitchen.
http://www.adina.eu/adina-apartment-...her-markt/home Very convenient location next to an S-bahn stop, walking distance to the Dom and Museum Island. Our trip report is right here: http://www.fodors.com/community/euro...eight-days.cfm |
I found PB too far from the central area....
I prefer to stay close to the Friedrichstraße train/ metro station.... Stayed at Melia 3 times ..great location , good 4 star hotel. |
We were perfectly happy at the NH Mitte, and yes, stay at Mitte.
You will enjoy the city. |
