Where to stay in amalfi coast, positano or ravello? hotel marincanto?

Hello
we have four nights in Amalfi coast. We would like to stay in either positano or ravello but am leaning towards positano since there seems to be more to do, reasonable prices at hotels that are still nice for our 10 year anniversary trip. Our first trip without our children. we would like a view from our balcony of the old town and sea.

Does anyone have opinions on which hotel you recommend: Hotel marincanto but they only have the honeymoon suite open, has anyone stayed in this room ?

Hotel eden roc with the jacuzzi, and Hotel Buca de bacco?

which has better views and location? and are not too noisy late at night.

Also does anyone have opinions on the hike across the towns or a boat ride exploring the amalfi coast?

thank you kindly!

I've heard good things about Hotel Marincanto. We always stay at The Poseidon, most recently last summer. It's about midway up the "hill" from town, so less steps/walking back and forth.

Most rooms have gorgeous- almost aerial- views of the town and beach. You give some of that up by staying in town at Hotel Buca di Bacco.

We really love the Poseidon and have stayed there four times! Staff is very friendly, it has an outstanding breakfast buffet, small gym/spa on site, and tiny deck with pool/lounges.

Staying right in town gives you better access to some of the restaurants and beach, but it is really nice to get away from the crowds and noise by staying further away from the center.

We've never done the hikes along the coast, but there's a really nice seaside walk we discovered last year that runs between the hotel Covo dei Sarceni in town and Fornillo Beach.

And for a tour of the tiny coves along the coast and/or Capri, try one of the operators whose booths are located at the town dock. We went out with Salvatore e Gennore (sp?) for a tour of Capri, and it was a highlight of our trip.
