If your going to Amsterdam, check out "Lindenstraat 5" B&B.(www.innsite.com)
It's a beautifull, romantic 1 room hotel in the middle of the "Jordaan".
Close to everything and much better than any of the "Big" Hotels.

Hi There, I am also going on my honeymoon in April 2002 to Ams. I have stayed at Grand Kras- the rooms are huge, the bathtubs (my fav part) are HEATED and massive although you could probably kill yourself in the shower stall- very slippery. Swanky hotel in the middle of what was massive construction when I got there last March. A little snobby (i felt uncomfortable in jeans) but front desk staff really helpful. Lots of bars, coffeeshops nearby. Pub transport to museums etc just out the door. Would reccommend- red light district is just around the corner, but I walked all over at night with a friend and wasn't even a bit nervous. Not the prettiest part of town, but all in all it really doesn't matter much- the pub trans is so easy- you can go anywhere. Check out a little store called Chimera just around the corner. I think I will stay at the American on the Leidesplein for a change of area...but haven't decided- anybody know about that hotel?? Hope this helps. Email me if you need more help.

I was about to recommend the American Hotel on the Leidseplein when I read it in a previous posting. I have stayed there several times and frankly wouldn't stay anywhere else because it always seemed so comfortable and the staff is very good. The location is also excellent. And there are lots of good restaurants right in the area.
