Where to stay?

I am traveling to Portugal this May and it is just 2 girls, in our twenties. We want to stay in a place with a great location to restaurants and other sorts of activity. We are looking to stay in like a 3 or 4 star, nothing too cheap or pricy. Any advice?

We were planning on staying in Lisbon for the 5 nights and doing day trips. Does that sound like a good idea?

Nice trip! Staying at a pousada will give both of you an authentic experience in Portugal. Google "pousadas in Portugal" and here is a website with which to begin:

In Lisbon I usually stay at Residencial Estrela do Saldanha on Avda. Republica, 117. It's a great location at Metro Saldanha, Duque de Avila exit. Plaza Saldanha is an interchange for many bus or trolley routes (incl. #28). Co=Owner / Manager Carlos Ferreira speaks pretty good English (as do many
young people in 'isboa).

There are several inexpensive restaurants on Duque de Avila, wherwe lunch will cost you very little. And there's Pasteleria Versailles, just next door to the Residencial, where you can get pastries that are to die for
From there you can take Metro Lisboa or walk to Entre Campos (2-Metro stops).

Holiday Inn Continental is also good choice for you to stay. It is 4 star hotel. Hotel is located approximately one mile from the Gulbenkian Museum and four miles from Lisbon International Airport.
It is about 59 EURO. You might check it out from hotelsguru.com, the site that I have booked several times. Good price and services.
