Where to stay
My husband and I will be spending 5 days in Italy in August, arrive Pisa and leave from Milan. Any good suggestions on how to get around and where to stay? We are young and fit 50 year olds and coming from New Zealand we have to multply $1.00 by 3 to make one pound - scary!!!! Any suggestions gratefully recieved.

What places do you want to visit?
It's difficult to suggest the best way of getting around without knowing that.

Oh and pounds won't get you very far in Italy.
Thanks Mike
Good point - I think Pisa - Rome - Florence - Vienna and then Milan. Only going by the map and maybe a bit on the ambitious side. Did you find Italy expensive?

gayle: You will get more useful responses if you would start a new thread with a better title. "Where to stay" doesn not give a hint that you are asking about travel between pisa and Milan.

Look at the titles of other threads - the ones that get a lot of activity have more detailed/descriptive titles.

(Clicking on "Italy" only allows someone to search for information. It doesn't tell some one your questions are about Italy)

hi Gayle!

Are your airlines tickets already purchased? Why arrive in Pisa? Cruise?

If you only have 5 days for Italy, definitely SKIP Pisa and Milan. Most efficienty use of time & least travel would be a less geographically spread out itinerary. Maybe arrive Rome, Tuscany, Florence. You would have to give up Venice which is a crime.

Even so, you will only "scratch the surface" with 5 days.

Buon viaggio!
