Where to spend 2 days prior to Danube river cruise from Budapest?
 

We are taking a 7 day river cruise from Nuremberg to Budapest in early September. If we were to add on 2 days at front or back end of trip should it be more time in Budapest or maybe go to Prague for 2 days before flying home? OR break up the trip and go to Paris first?
We need to book flights soon so all help would be appreciated!

I do not know how to change title. We are going from Nuremberg to Budapest; not the other way around which is what we had originally planned.

Go to Prague if you haven’t visited there before.

Prague is great even for a few days but Budapest is too - will you have at least some time there - if I had to chose I'd chose Prague - direct buses and trains from Prague to Nurenberg - special fares at www.bahn.de/en - German Railways web site if you book early enough. Bus is comfy and quicker I believe. For lots on trains and buses check www.seat61.com; BETS-European Rail Experts and www.ricksteves.com. Nurnberg is I believe closer to Prague timewise than Budapest so put it at beginning of trip and try to wiggle a day for Buda and Pest too!
