Where to snowboard in Switzerland?
I have been just informed that my company will be taking my level of managers to Switzerland (company headquarters) for a few days the 2nd week in March for a meeting. I would like to extend the trip for a few days either before or after, but have no clue about ski resorts over there.
I will go look for a guide book this weekend, but was hoping that someone on here might have some suggestions for places to start to think about. We will be in Zurich for the meeting and don't want to spend forever trying to get to the resort, since I don't have more than 1 or 2 days to add. So somewhere close would be great.
Some comments about what I would like. It doesn't have to be high end or large, but I do need to rent equipment and would like someplace where snowboarding is welcome. It has been a few years, since I have been boarding, but remember finding some places in the US that were more welcoming than others. I know it is fine most everywhere here now, but not sure about Europe, so I apologize if this question sounds silly.
Any recommendations will be appreciated.

I agree with Schuler.
I've been to both with pretty much the same group of European friends and have found:
When they wanna' do hardcore skiing and little else, it's Andermatt.
We meet/stay in Engelberg when they want to do a bit of partying in town in addition to serious skiing.
Engelberg gets the nod for ease of traveling to, cuisine, more equipment rental shops and local scene.
Both should have great snow conditions, Andermatt might have better snowboarding venues - I ski - but I suggest you visit the respective websites www.engelberg.ch and www.andermatt.ch
and see which appeals to you more.

Well, we just got our work trip itinerary and we will be in Engleberg for two nights, so I think we will try Andermatt the weekend before. Making reservations tomorrow. Will let you know what I think in a month.
Thanks.
Thanks.
