Where to sleep in Wicklow Mountains? Glendalough?
We are planning to drive from Dublin and spend 1-2 nights and one full day in the Wicklow mountains, before heading west. For sure plan to visit Glendalough and do one of the longer hikes. Where should we sleep in the area? Are there any exceptional B&Bs? We are fine staying in the middle of nowhere in a fantastic country house, or in a small hotel in a village. Any great recommendations in the vicinity? I researched accommodation in Glendalough but didn't find anything that looked stellar.
We're thinking of a detour to Altamont on the way west, so we could potentially stay somewhere down that way as well (but certainly not further south than that).
We are primarily interested in nature/landscape and historical stuff (preferably medieval or earlier).
Thanks!

Riversdale House www.glendalough.eu.com/ . Within walking distance of Glendalough. We were very happy there.
